The Benefits of whole fresh foods

Recently I took a trip to the Whole Foods on 59th Street in NYC and to my surprise, almost 1/3 of the aisles we’re empties out. The crackers, chips, breads, and pasta aisles were the barest. The ice cream and meat freezers were a close second. All due to the Coronavirus hysteria.
Ironically the most immune boosting vital food sections were fully stocked –
EXAMPLES OF THE FULLY STOCKED SECTIONS:

THE FRESH FRUIT CITRUS area (think oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits) for their powerful viral neutralizing Vitamin C

THE RED STUFF area (think Raspberries, Watermelon, Papaya, Tomatoes (when cooked), along with red cabbage, carrots, asparagus), all which contain lycopene, the carotenoid responsible for giving fruits their red color. This pigment is also a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage, provides sun protection, improved heart health and lowers the risk of certain types of cancer.

THE FRESH VEGGIES area where you find the potent ALLIUM family (think garlic, shallots, leeks, onions and scallions) which are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial, all which are super high in flavonoids and antioxidants, especially the onions which are high in the flavonoid Quercitin. This flavonoid has been shown to lower cholesterol, prevent heart disease, thin the blood and ward off blood clots been, plus is linked to prohibiting several forms of cancer growth. Note that some other commonly consumed quercetin foods include apples, green peppers, red leaf lettuce, asparagus, broccoli and grapes.

THEN THE ESSENTIAL OILS aisle was completely full (think coconut, eucalyptus, oregano, olive leaf, tea tree and olive oil) all of which contain powerful antiviral anti microbial properties. In layman terms, they contains many nutrients that can inhibit or kill viruses, fungi and bacteria .
THEN THE NuTS & SEEDS BINS (think almonds, walnuts, cashews, hazelnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds) rich in vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that helps the body fight off infection)
AND this is by no means a complete list of the benefits of whole foods and a plant based diet. For that you’ll need to go directly to the sources.

Anyway go figure! And if you find any of this information beneficial to you, then that’s just grand and I wish you great immune boosting strength to get through these times.

Just note, most people are sadly uneducated in these areas of health and greatly misinformed due to our heavily captured mass media and government.
And just a bit more social commentary here. Our pharmaceutical & conventional medical establishments do everything they can to hide, discredit and denigrate powerful natural healing modalities because they cut into their profits.
That’s why you mainly hear about washing your hands and using hand sanitizers as the main and only answers we have for protecting ourselves and preventing the spreading of illnesses. And that we just have to wait for a vaccine or other conventional medical interventions/solutions yet to be discovered. That’s such a small piece of what prevention is all about. Food for thought. Look deep and do your own research and share what you learn. Be Well!
